What I'm wearing... a royal blue dress with a gold, green, black and cream design
What I'm reading... blogs and magazines right now. I finished Amish by Accident by Jennifer Spredemann, which was a free book that I downloaded to my Kindle. It was an easy, predictable read, perfect after reading a more heavy book before. I have three magazines to read and then I will pick another book.
What's happening in my kitchen... today we had big salads for lunch. I bought romaine lettuce from Sam's Club online and I swear it said it was three heads, but when we got it yesterday there were six! That's a lot of lettuce for two people to eat before it starts going bad. So, we will be having a lot of salads and putting lettuce on our sandwiches! I have chicken marinating in garlic and balsamic vinegar dressing for hubby to grill for dinner. We'll have a baked potato with and maybe even a salad!
What's outside my window...the morning was beautiful and sunny and seventy degrees so went out to work some in the garden. I painted one of the beds green. I decided that they needed to look nice. I weeded out the pallet that the chives are growing in and I've decided that they need to be dug up and planted somewhere else as they are too big for the pallet now. Hubby finished digging the old raspberry bed and raked the leaves that had gathered along the fence. He also trimmed out big pine tree so that we can walk under the branches without bending over. Bending over to walk is hard on the backs of us old folks!
What I'm thankful for...my hubby, who helps with all my projects and is so easy going.
What I'm smelling... I'm drinking a strawberry watermelon flavored water and it smells just like watermelon
What I'm hearing... the wind is blowing and it is making the pastic on the porch windows make noise. A little while ago we heard a lot of firetrucks go down the next road and we suspect it was for someone's birthday. The fire departments here are doing "drive bys" with lights and sirens to give a smile to the kiddos whose birthday celebrations have been interrupted by COVID-19.
What I'm crafting... I have to put buttons on ten ear savers and I have masks cut out and ready to sew. A little crocheting here and there on my sweater.
What's on my mind... As I am watching all the craziness with people not abiding by the stay home stay safe rules, I am getting worried about what's ahead for us. In NY we have finally squashed the curve and the number of people getting sick and dying has been on a steady decrease. And I truly believe that it is because we shut everything down. When our 14 days is up and we open the state back up I am worried that those from other places who have not self quarantined, don't wear masks, don't follow social distancing will come here and it will start all over again. I'm not normally a worrier, especially about things I can't control... but this has me worried.
Words live by...
I hope you all had a good weekend and are looking forward to the days to come.
Thanks for dropping by...
Stay safe and well
