U2 continues to be one of the biggest and best-selling acts of all time. More than one million Joshua Tree Tour tickets were sold within the first 24 hours on sale. Each night, U2 will play the album in full, including the first live performances of the song “Red Hill Mining Town.” The band will stop in North America and Europe and headline the Bonnaroo Music Festival in June. Noel Gallagher is opening shows for the European dates. US opening acts include Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, and OneRepublic.
The Joshua Tree sold more than 35 million copies and won the band “Album of The Year” and “Best Rock Performance” at the 1987 GRAMMY Awards -- the first of what has become a record-breaking run of GRAMMY wins. It catapulted U2 to one of the most legendary bands in the world. The album features hit singles, “With or Without You,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” and “Where The Streets Have No Name.”
